Alexus Sham earned his JD from the Catholic University of America with a certificate in Comparative and International Law and a Bachelor's degree from The College of the Holy Cross. He spent the third year of his undergraduate studies at the University of Strasbourg, in Strasbourg, France. After completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Sham served as a Health Peace Corps Volunteer in the West African nation of Mali where he taught health classes, educated women and children about the importance of vaccinations and helped several villages gain access to potable water. While in law school he served as an Associate Editor of The Catholic University Law Review and was a Student Attorney for Columbus Legal Service where he represented victims of domestic violence. He also attended a six week summer program at the Jagellonian University in Cracow, Poland, where he studied international trade. Mr. Sham is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and New York Bar. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Sham performed pro bono work for the Political Asylum Immigration Representation Group successfully obtaining asylum for a client. Mr. Sham is fluent in French and the West African language of Bambara. Prior to opening up this practice, Mr. Sham worked as Associate General Counsel for the Center for Law and Social Justice affiliated with Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York, where he had a caseload of 200 cases representing clients in all phases of family based and employment immigration.

Mr. Sham's interests outside of the law include running marathons, playing chess, and seeing Broadway shows.
